Barry Donadio Recognized By The State Of New York For Cold War Service

Pvt. Barry Donadio of the 42nd Infantry Division Scout Platoon 1988 undisclosed location On April 7th, 2022, Barry Donadio was recognized by the State of New York for his service in the N.Y. Army National Guard during the Cold War. The Adjutant General of the N.Y. Division of Military and Naval Affairs issued a Certificate of Recognition to Donadio 34 years after he joined the Army at the age of 17 . Barry Donadio is a home grown New York Long Islander. He was born in Bay Shore, grew up in Oakdale and lived in Port Jefferson Station as a teenager. After attending Comsewogue high school, he served in various patriotic positions through out his career. Those positions included serving in the N.Y. Army National Guard 42nd Infantry Division Scout Platoon located in Patchogue N.Y.. He then served in the 340th Military Police in Jamaica, Queens. After that, he served at the 106th Security Police in Westhampton Beach, NY.. He led the Emergency Services Team there and was Sniper certified by the FBI and the Suffolk County Police. Later, he took a position United States Secret Service at the White House. He made a name for himself while serving on the Secret Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) as one of the top marksman while he protected President Bush and President Obama on a daily basis. Donadio qualified under the standards and criteria’s for obtaining New York’s Certificate of Recognition for Cold War Service during his service in the New York Army National Guard. Barry Donadio’s newly awarded Cold War service Certificate of Recognition Upon receiving the medal Donadio stated; “I would like to thank the Adjutant General and the Division of Military and Naval Affairs for recognizing me. I am truly honored to have served in the New York Army National Guard and protect to people of New York and the United States during the Cold War” “I will always serve my native state of New York and its citizens.” It is noteworthy that Donadio is a descendant of the original settlers of New Amsterdam (today’s New York) through his fraternal grandmother. Because of this reason, getting this medal from his home state of New York is very important to him and his family. On March 30th the state of New York awarded Donadio “The Medal For Merit” This is the second medal Barry Donadio has received after his military service. On June 24th 2017, Donadio was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. The medal was awarded 17 years after Donadio completed his military service. Congressman Andy Harris of Maryland presented the medal to Donadio in person. Donadio will add to his credentials the newly awarded Certificate of Recognition and N.Y. Medal For Merit along with his already existing Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, and four honorable discharges to name a few. Since completing his military service and government service, Donadio has moved to Maryland and stayed active as an advocate for other veterans. Barry Donadio Briefs TWA Flight 800 Families At Moriches Coast Guard Station On 20th Anniversary

Barry Donadio led events commemorating the 20 year anniversary of the downing of TWA Flight 800 on Long Island. The controversial crash occurred on July 17th 1996. There are still many people with questions as to why the plane crashed. Most people were attending events to remember their loved ones and friends.

Mr. Donadio authored the book "TWA Flight 800 First Responder Witness Account". It was released in September 2013 and has been gaining more interest. The book is about his account of the evening the plane went down. He was an Emergency Medical Technician that responded to the scene of the rescue operations.

Donadio stated " I felt that it was important to remember the victims of the tragedy on the 20th anniversary. I was happy to meet families of some of the victims. We turned the 20th anniversary of a horrible event, into a positive day for all those who attended."

Mr. Donadio led victims families to the TWA Flight 800 Memorial in Shirley, New York as well as the TWA Flight 800 Memorials in East Moriches New York. With the cooperation of the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Moriches, he led the group to the Coast Guard station. The group was able to access the station while Mr. Donadio explained to the group what happened there on the night of July 17th 1996.

Barry Donadio's Security Agency Mobilized For The 2015 Baltimore Riots

Barry Donadio's Private Security Agency "Public Security LLC" mobilized during the 2015 Baltimore Riots. 

Public Security LLC provided free security protective escorts to elements of the Salvation Army in the most hostile areas of Baltimore during the riots. The Salvation Army delivered free food to the citizens of Baltimore that were in need. 

Public Security LLC President Barry Donadio stated " It was our duty to act and do our part for the people of Baltimore. " We were honored to keep those safe who delivered food to persons who needed it". "For us, this was not about making money, it was about doing what is right and being their for the public in need". 

Public Security LLC remained on call to potential clients in need of private security services for the remainder of the month. 

Barry Donadio is a military war Veteran and former member of the U.S. Secret Service. His company Public Security LLC is a private security company licensed in Maryland, Washington D.C. and New York. He cites that although his company is private for profit company, they perform many acts for free to benefit the public.  "We never pass an opportunity to do good when the situation presents itself" he stated.
