You’re in good hands with Barry Donadio the President of Public Security LLC, who is a former U.S. Secret Service tactical operator.

The building is as anonymous as one could find, nestled in an industrial park in Queenstown, MD., a mid-size town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. A small discreet sign is the only indication that there is a well-known, well-regarded security company. The office is functional, a few items including a small toy car, certificates from the states of Maryland and New York certifying that the occupant is fully licensed as a private detective and a firearms instructor. This is the office of Barry Donadio, President of Public Security, LLC, one of about 420 security agencies in Maryland.

Like the office where he sits, Barry Donadio presents the image of a calm, quiet man, who’s background belies his appearance. Donadio, a native of New York, his accent still present, has always been involved with some aspect of security.

The summer of his junior year in high school, Donadio participated in a then, novel program which allowed underaged (he was 17) students to join the New York (NY) Army National Guard and take part if a modified boot camp. Unlike the JROTC, this program was designed to prepare students to become fully qualified student upon graduation. After graduation, Donadio qualified as an Infantry Recon Scout, assigned to the Army National Guard on Long Island, NY. He loved being in the National Guard. “I have so much respect for the men and women I worked with. Every day, they place their lives on the line to defend this country. It was an honor to serve with them.”

After his initial commitment to the Army National Guard was completed, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve as a Military Police Officer at the 340th Military Police Company in Jamaica, Queens NY. He later transferred to the New York Air National Guard where he became a Team Leader in the Emergency Services Team and was a Security Police Officer. This assignment saw him involved with the crash of TWA Flight 800 which crashed off Long Island Sound. This experience leads him to later write his first book, “TWA Flight 800 First Responder Witness Account”.

During his posting in at the Garbreski ANG base in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, he worked with a variety of law enforcement agencies, both State and Federal. He worked along side these agencies assisting with protecting President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore who would visit the New York City area and Long Island. Several Federal Agents that he worked with encouraged him to consider working for the Federal Government and after visiting the Washington DC area, decided to apply to the Secret Service.

‘I finally did send in an application and promptly forgot about it. Image my surprise when I got a call to come in for an interview. I passed the required tests and background investigation and found myself working at the White House.”

Donadio’s job at the White House position was that part of the elite Emergency Response Team (ERT) whose job is to provide security for the President both at the White House itself and on travel to local and foreign areas. Donadio, understandably is reluctant to discuss specifics, even today, due to the nature of the job and to protect the security still in place.

Reluctant to retire completely, “I am the kind of guy who likes to stay busy.” Donadio wanted to do something in the security business and after talking with various people in and around the Washington DC area, decided to pursue his current position, which is marketed towards people who want to know that their home, family, friends and neighbors are protected from outside elements.

Barry Donadio Is Teaching Tactical Shotgun Techniques To Marylander's

Barry Donadio, formerly of the U.S. Secret Service and current President of Public Security LLC is now teaching the use of Tactical Shotguns to Maryland residents.

The training is designed for Private Security Officers, Private Detectives, and Security Managers. Private Citizens may also take the training. To training focuses on Security Management expectations of Security Professionals issued shotguns for the performance of their protective duties. Citizens can also benefit from the training because there is approximately 4 hours of classroom instruction on tactical shotguns followed by shooting multiple live rounds.

Barry Donadio Instructing HQL Class To Marylanders

Barry Donadio, formerly of the U.S. Secret Service and current President of Public Security LLC is now teaching the use of pistols to Maryland residents.

Under Maryland State law, residents are required to obtain a Handgun Qualification License (HQL) prior to purchasing a revolver or pistol. 

In order to obtain the HQL, applicants are required to attend a 4 hour class on pistols and fire a pistol as a minimum qualification. The 4 hour classes are only authorized to be given by certified pistol instructors validated by the Maryland State Police. Mr Donadio currently holds the Instructor certification and is authorized to give the class. His classroom sessions are typically held on Saturdays from 7am to 12pm. He then brings class participants to various area shooting ranges to complete the qualification. He also instructs on a one on one basis with clients that request it. 

The HQL can only be issued to applicants 21 years old or over. If you are 18 you may take the class which is good for 3 years, then apply for the license when applicant turns 21.

Barry Donadio Sanctions Narcan Training For His Security Personnel

In December 2016, Barry Donadio sanctioned the training of his security personnel to become certified to administer Naloxone. 

Naloxone which is sold under the brandname Narcan is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. If Narcan is administered by a trained professional, death from opioid overdose may be prevented. 

Painkillers such as oxycontin or percocet and street drugs like heroin are know as opioids. These drugs have skyrocketed in popularity by abusers and have caused many to fatally overdose.

Barry Donadio, the CEO of Public Security LLC recognized the need for his Staff to be trained. "It is a hot political topic and epidemic" Donadio said. " My Security Officers and Private Detectives are on duty in various locations and they may be able to save a life when confronted with someone who has overdosed." "This is our response to the call for help from the community."

Mr. Donadio took advantage of the free training for his employees that was sponsored by the Caroline County Counseling Center in Denton, Maryland. Donadio thanked Caroline County for the free training and recommended the training which is available to the public.

Barry Donadio Called On By GOP Leader To Protect Alveda King, Niece Of MLK

In June of 2015, while Baltimore was still recovering from the Baltimore protests, the streets were still tense and ready to potentially erupt again at any moment. 

Civil leaders like CL Bryant where hitting the streets trying to reach out to the people of Baltimore to show support by bringing positivity during the tense time. 

Nicolee Ambrose, who is Maryland's National Committeewoman with the GOP had a mission. She brought a well known Republican named Alveda King to help the GOP reach Baltimore residents and show support. 

Alveda King is a Republican, American Activist, Author and former State Representative for the 28th District in the Georgia House of Representatives. She is also the niece of Martin Luther King. 

Nicolee had one problem, she needed to get Aleveda King to the most dangerous areas of the city safely. Thats when she called on Barry Donadio and his Private Detectives to provide executive protection to her guest.

When Reporter Doug Bishop asked him what could be done to ease rising tension in the U.S., Donadio replied " Doing one positive act towards others outweighs a thousand negative acts. "Barry Donadio is no stranger to racial tensions. He served in various law enforcement positions in New York City, Long Island, Maryland, and in the military. His experience in law enforcement stems as far back to 1989. Now, he is the CEO of a high end private security firm which responded to the recent riots in Baltimore. 

In 2014, he was elected to the Queen Anne's County Republican Central Committee in Maryland. There, he lead an effort to bring minorities to the Republican party and break the label that this party is anti-minority.

Barry Donadio's Protection Agency Hires 65 Marylanders

Barry Donadio's private security and investigation firm "Public Security LLC", put 65 Marylanders to work this month. Most were Eastern Shore Marylanders hired to work the "10K Over The Bay Bridge Run" that took place on November 6th 2016. The new staff fetched a high hourly rate of pay as Public Security LLC decided that paying Marylanders a high wage was more important then their profit according to their business strategy. After working the event, the newly hired Marylanders were afforded further employment opportunities with Public Security LLC on a part-time basis. Those positions are expected to lead to full time positions. 

The new staff working for Public Security LLC are happy with the new opportunity. Many feel it will open more doors for them. Kristen Brook, a newly hired Event Staff, thanked the company President Barry Donadio for the allowing all of them to be apart of the Bridge Race.
